PreisAktuell is BAT’s platform for real-time pricing and market insights in agricultural trading. To secure its future and support their 2030 digital strategy, BAT approached TrueNode to relaunch the platform and make it fully scalable. By modernizing its architecture, the goal was to enhance cost efficiency, ensure precise pricing, and improve information management for farmers and stakeholders.
The previous version, PreisAktuell 1.0, faced significant limitations. It struggled with slow performance and lacked the flexibility needed for seamless integrations or new features. As user demand grew, the risk of slowdowns and inefficiencies increased, making further development unsustainable. The relaunch aimed to transform PreisAktuell into a powerful, scalable solution ready to drive digital leadership in agricultural trading.
We successfully relaunched PreisAktuell with the enhanced HofPortal, delivering a scalable delivering a scalable micro service architecture in only 9 months that includes 4 front ends, 2 mobile apps and numerous backend services. The technical architecture prioritized scalability, security and extensibility while a complete UX and UI revamp improved overall user experience.
Since the relaunch, the platform has made significant strides, including over 50k price request within 2 weeks with trading volumes reaching two-digit millions. There are currently 708 active users, with a total of 3,672 users since the public go-live in January 2025.
